Fiercebad Beer Gathering -- Session #1

Dudes, dudettes, and beer drinkers of all kinds,

You are about to embark upon the very first of many Fiercebad Beer Gatherings. This is your chance to explore the magical world of malted barley and all it's good friends. The first session is all about the hops! Perhaps you're a proclaimed 'hop head,' or maybe you find the mere scent of this Cannabis-related flower quite offensive. It really doesn't matter. Come enlighten your mouth with a serious variety of hoppy beers -- some light, some dark, some bottle conditioned, some from Belgium, some from England, and some that will even melt your face off and destroy your taste buds with deliciousness.

Without further ado, here's the line-up...

Avery, India Pale Ale BOULDER, COLORADO In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Samuel Smith's, India Ale TADCASTER, ENGLAND Samuel Smith's India Ale is characterized by the colour of a golden sunset, a refined maltiness and an emphasis on the aroma and flavour from Britain's best hop gardens.

Boulevard, Single Wide KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI The latest addition to the Boulevard family of year-around beers, Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version -- inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A. -- boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping. Ingredients: Pale malt, caramel malt & malted wheat. Magnum, Columbus, Summit, Cascade, Centennial & Pallisade hops.

Brasserie d'Achouffe, La Chouffe ACHOUFFE, BELGIUM A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness).

SKA, Decadent DURANGO, COLORADO Lacking nothing, at ten percent alcohol by volume and 95 International Bitterness Units, the Decadent truly represents all that is self indulgent when it comes to drinking beer.

Great Divide, Hercules DENVER, COLORADO Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile.

Dogfish Head, 90 Minute MILTON, DELAWARE Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute IPA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. In case you care... the average 12 oz. serving has 294 calories.

Stone, Arrogant Bastard ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Moylan's, Hopsickle NOVATO, CALIFORNIA In celebration of the Hop. . . . This is a "Hop" tribute, worthy of a King's Imperial Court! Enjoy the blast of fresh Cascade, Simcoe, Columbus, Ahtanum, and Chinook Hops as they stimulate the taste buds in a truly Imperial Fashion. Pucker Up!
